In its first few months, Resthaven experienced success, with reports in November 1935 demonstrating that work at Resthaven had gone on quietly and effectively. However, because of limited accommodation and staffing, the types of cases that could be admitted were restricted, so the organisation was quickly under pressure to increase available places.
