By the time of the Methodist Conference in March 1938, it was apparent that Resthaven’s looming debt and ongoing fundraising requirements had become a burden. A committee comprising three Resthaven Board members and three Memorial Hospital Board members was appointed, and Resthaven was placed under the control of the Home Mission Department.
