In June 1960, the Board was stunned by the sudden death of Administrator (CEO), Rev. Gordon Wellington. But not even this tragedy could slow down the pace of growth. Initially, Rev. George Shapley emerged from retirement to handle affairs and eventually, a new Administrator, Frank Day, was appointed with the task of overseeing the expansionist program.
