Resthaven was approached by SGIC Hospitals Ltd to purchase Bellara Retirement Village, which comprised 27 self-care units and 21 serviced apartments. Resthaven acquired the village, located in Campbelltown on the corner of Gorge and Newton roads, in March 1993.
Following the purchase, Resthaven consulted with the Department of Health, Housing, Local Government and Community Services to change the serviced apartments into hostel units, with an opportunity to transfer hostel numbers from Resthaven Paradise. Meals to the village were provided from the Resthaven Paradise kitchen. Resthaven also supplied ‘Hostel Link’ services to residents at Bellara, and other clients in the Campbelltown community.
