Resthaven became one of two organisations to trial a national pilot program — the Government’s ‘Community Aged Care Packages’. The program was pivotal in the expansion of community services, presenting the first opportunity to branch out into the north-eastern suburbs.
With the program first commencing in the north-eastern suburbs, an office was leased at 111 Hampstead Road, Manningham. Associated with local councils — Campbelltown, Burnside and Mitcham — the expansion of the community services area progressed at a rate that far exceeded expectations.
