Resthaven was granted an additional 110 Community Aged Care packages. This enabled an expansion of Community Services in the Onkaparinga, West Torrens and Salisbury local government areas.
To establish a physical presence in the south, a suitable building for office accommodation was required. This was difficult to come by, so an interim lease arrangement for a suitable premise in an accessible location was achieved. The Onkaparinga program was fully subscribed by the end of the financial year.
Around the same time, Resthaven also successfully expanded its dementia respite program and a service for the Department of Veterans' Affairs. Services were provided to Veterans and War Widows in both the southern and eastern metropolitan areas and included respite, personal care, domestic assistance, home and garden maintenance. There was less emphasis on case management of clients in comparison with Community Aged Care Packages or Respite programs.
Resthaven also explored strategic alliances with other organisations through a number of projects in the southern and northern suburbs. Collaborations with RDNS, Eastern Domiciliary Care, Aged Care and Housing, Anglicare and Helping Hand aimed to improve service outcomes for clients.
