Although it took several years to find exactly the right site, by the early months of 2001, Resthaven had homed in on a parcel of newly released land at Adams Road, Craigmore. Through to the end of the year, the process of design and planning continued for a facility that would contain 40 high care, 38 low care and 14 dementia beds. This development came at a time when, across all Resthaven’s fourteen other facilities on their eight sites, there had already been a large amount of rebuilding and refurbishment. Construction began in spring 2003.
