Innovations and funding for respite

Advancements in respite services were welcomed in 2005. A new concept in the provision of respite services, ‘Ridgway House’ in Westbourne Park offered short-term overnight respite for carers, centre-based day respite, and accommodation and support for carers. Located adjacent to Resthaven Westbourne Park, Ridgway House respite service was officially opened on 17 November 2005.

Moreover, funding was secured for the Carer Respite Options program at the Southern Aged Community Respite Service for a further three years (until 2008). In addition, small groups and individual respite services were introduced at Mannum.
