Staff and residents at Resthaven Mitcham assisted the peak body, Aged and Community Services SA & NT, in developing a film to highlight issues facing the aged care industry. This film was screened at the opening of the National Aged and Community Services Australia Conference, held in Adelaide in September 2008.
Delegates to the conference also undertook a tour at Resthaven Craigmore, with the site only four years old at the time. Of great interest was the secure dementia area ‘Beltana’ — its garden a prime example of innovation in dementia care, with sensory plantings and wide circular paths.
