After many years of lobbying, the people of Port Elliot gained a Resthaven, with the state-of-the-art aged care home opened and dedicated on 14 May 2015, attended by more than 500 people.
The modern home featured a 92-place residential aged care home as well as an adjacent Community Services centre and four retirement living units. The home reached full occupancy by the middle of the following year.
