In September 2015, Resthaven launched a new five-year strategic plan (2015–2020). The strategic plan set ‘a clear direction for Resthaven in challenging times’, as Government reforms influenced the provision of residential and home care services.
The plan took into account the fluid nature of aged care and gave a considered response, which weighed the prudent and cautious heritage of Resthaven against a commitment to growth and responsiveness to opportunities.
A statement of purpose was its first aim: ‘Working together: outstanding care and support for older people and their carers’. Next, the values of ‘Trust’, ‘Dignity’ and ‘Choice’ were highlighted.
With a commitment to creating services and a work environment that supports a diverse and inclusive workplace, the Strategic Plan highlighted the future endeavour to create a Diversity Action Plan. This document was developed and refined before formally launching in 2019.
