Mark Porter and David Norton turned the first sod at Resthaven Murray Bridge on 6 January 2017, which signalled the commencement of the redevelopment project, which included extending the site, with its buildings to be refined, rebuilt and refurbished. It was envisaged that the local home care offices on Adelaide Road would also become part of the site.
The first stage of the development, the café area and front entrance, were used for the first time to celebrate the home’s 60th anniversary celebrations in November 2017. Later stages of the redevelopment were still occurring at this time.
