A service hub in Murray Bridge

On 18 January 2019, the major redevelopment of the Murray Bridge site was opened, after two years of extensive and challenging construction. The new build housed Resthaven Murray Bridge, Hills and Fleurieu Community Services staff, adjacent to the aged care home.

The entire redevelopment was a complex, multi-faceted venture. It was difficult to both maintain occupancy of residents during construction and to provide a professional laundry and kitchen in transportable buildings. The final outcome was stunning: the original Homburg House was beautifully renovated, and a new open-plan entrance foyer welcomed the public into an area replete with café, store, hairdresser and administration. Home Care Services were provided with a separate building on the northern edge of the site. It was a successful venture, supported by the local community.
