The building program at Resthaven Leabrook progressed rapidly in 1953. Wings in the original home were dedicated to Revs John Pearce and Charles Schafer, and the newly erected wing recognised Revs W.T. and G.W. Shapley.
This final stage would see the culmination of the master plan, of Resthaven’s first Board of Management, that would accommodate up to 50 women.
Upon completion, Matron Dorothy Wilson said:
‘Resthaven began to have some order and soon the new rooms were filled’.
